Haymarket House has made clear its intentions to support the needs of movement workers and their supporters from its start. The Chicago Abortion Fund is excited to celebrate, strategize, and rest at Haymarket House. Having safe, beautiful, and welcoming spaces in which we can be in community with others is vital for our work.

Haymarket House has been a central part of our community building and organizing work. We’ve used the space to host art exhibitions, panels, communal art projects, bake sales, tabling, celebrations, and our day to day work. Communal spaces like Haymarket House are necessary for the relational aspect of revolutionary work.

Haymarket House is the physical embodiment of Haymarket Books’ deep roots and critical role in Chicago’s culture of resistance.
